Leya de Bruyn

Born in Italy, Leya began her formal dance training at the age of 9 after relocating to Canada. Her passion for ballet quickly became apparent, shaping her journey as a dedicated and skilled dancer.

Over the years, Leya has earned numerous scholarships and awards and has been selected to participate in prestigious summer intensives with the National Ballet of Canada, Ballet Jörgen, and Ballet Victoria. She achieved Distinction in her Advanced 2 Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) examination, qualifying her for the esteemed Solo Seal Award, which she completed in Toronto. Additionally, she successfully passed the Advanced 2 Cecchetti examination.

Leya honed her craft with the Goh Ballet Youth Company in Vancouver, BC, and is now embarking on her first season with Ballet Victoria as an aspirant. Alongside her performing career, Leya has developed a strong passion for teaching and has gained valuable experience instructing dancers of various levels. She is deeply committed to fostering a love of ballet in her students while guiding them to reach their full potential.
